How It All Began….

Frank, John and Ernie Archuleta began Baja Connection as a family business to entertain themselves during their retirement years. Initially the business began with furniture and pottery pieces from Mexico. While on a buying trip, brother Ernie saw a wine rack and his wheels started spinning… with a couple of tweaks here and there and some custom design work, he felt a real niche and void in the marketplace could be filled. With pencil and phone in hand, shapes and designs took form. And, with a quick phone call to a great friend who managed the famous Harris Ranch Steakhouse, a plan was born. It just so happened Harris Ranch had just discussed exploring a custom wine rack. Baja Connection called, Baja connection answered and today customers can select from a number of unique wine racks or have one custom built.

Our Vision & Goals

Our vision first and foremost is to offer the world authentic, rustic artisan furniture pieces from the beautiful country of Mexico. We strive to offer a unique product that satisfies our clients’ needs for something different. We take risks and think beyond standard shapes to set us apart from our competitors and have personal relationships with elite designers, such as Justavo Tavera.

A distant long-range goal and hope is to open a factory in Mexico. Knowing first hand the ongoing economic struggles the Mexican labor force has and having personal experiences with many of the artisans, Baja Connection hopes to raise the income of these deserving workers and provide a better life and future for their families.

Craftsmanship

Authentic Mexican, rustic craftsmanship sounds like a mouthful, but when you get down to the actual design work itself, you'll see the unique expression in each and every piece of furniture or pottery. While an initial concept or design is given to the artisans, they put their creative spin and artistic flair in each piece bringing their artistic talents to form. Baja Connection is proud to have attained this type of relationship with their artisans and enjoys sharing it with their clients.
